Fandom rocks

Sometimes I forget just how bloody incredible fandom can be. It takes a reminder like this to see how this community, which is so diverse and so disparate, needs to be celebrated, for WE ARE AWESOME.

Oct. 11th, 2011

[info]amo_amas_amat and I went to the BFI preview of Misfits tonight! We saw the season 3 premiere episode (which we're not supposed to talk about lol) and then there was a panel discussion with creator Howard Overman and cast members Iwan Rheon, Lauren Socha, Nathan Stewart-Jarrett, and new guy Joe Gilgun. Without any spoilers, I'll just say that new guy - Rudy is his character's name - is definitely more than a replacement for Robert Sheehan. And that the new powers are pretty fucking awesome.

So really just an amazing experience all around - best 10 quid I think I've ever spent!

Although getting tickets to see "An American In Paris" with special talk by LESLIE CARON just might top that! I <33333 Anna's BFI membership!!!!

Why my fandom rules!

This is what I've been doing!

Not even when my mother fell into the machine did he have tears

Another classic!

I am not here is this week over yet?

Oh ADL, how do you do it?

Antoine Langdouche is thick with fail today. I'm glad to see he's back -- last week didn't meet the level of pure stupid we've come to expect from him. I am massively overwhelmed with work (I'm not here, really!) so I'm just gonna sit back and see what you guys do with it. I can't wait!

(I'm also not rewatching this, no. And Igor's legs really aren't two metres long...)

May. 29th, 2010

Last post tonight. I mean it this time.

But I had to record this milestone:

I'm having a little trouble getting my head around the size of this number. That's... a LOT of people. What's even harder to get my head around is how many of you that I've grown to love, online and off, and how much you mean to me. And how I really can't imagine how my life would be without Eskimos in it. Seriously unsparkly, that's for damn sure.

So, my lovely hordes, I leave you with noserubs and many many bottles of prosecco. I'll return tomorrow with magic handwaves to erase your hangovers and embarrassing moments.

Torn, so torn...

OMG YOU GUYS!! This was on RTL-Explosiv (a daily features/entertainment show in Germany) tonight.

I'm cringing into a tightly wound ball of squick here at how they cut this, and how they miss everything that the Eskimos are about. They're probably brokenhearted that the people who went to NYC weren't the ones who write, "OMG Roman so cute when he cries, DenDen most sexxxxy, DeRo 4EVAH!!!!!!!"

On the other hand, you people are LOVELY. So utterly lovely. *cuddles all of you*

We are still debating whether or not to translate it, as non-German speakers will probably appreciate it much more not knowing what's said. (You Germans will just have to suck it up and squick with us, sorry.)

*is dying at the thought of how filthy [info]wildepet's unwashed face is now*

LOOK AT THIS!!! It's a wee hobbithole! With wee little handmade rugs and wee baby hobbit clothes and wee dishes with food and wee veggies growing in the garden. I want to live here!

And strangely, I feel much more normal and less freakishly obsessive.

(Although now I want a scale model of the Igloo, complete with a teensy fanfic library and miniature laptop dock and trough-size fryer vat for fries, and rows upon rows of tiny prosecco glasses...)

More Times Square pics

By now you've probably all seen the Eskimo kiss picture, but you probably haven't seen these because Jovan told us to save them for when ep 941 came out. But since they're published in Du & Ich, I suppose they're fair game.

The article's now translated, you can read it here!

Glitter and handcuffs and fairy dust, oh my!

All my love for these guys? It has reached new heights of insanity with the utter fabulousness that is this video.

Also, apparently the way I say "Verbotene Liebe" sounds like "Forbidden Liver." *mad cackles*

Front. And. Centre.

There we are, acting drunk and lurching drunkenly. I will never get tired of watching this!!!!

I do miss that lovely BORROWED purple coat!!! (I should've kept it...)

Nov. 30th, 2009

Completely speechless...

...so I'll borrow someone else's words: "It is a truth universally acknowledged that a single girl in possession of a large bandwidth must be in want of German pseudo-porn starring a pair of gay ice skaters. And if Internet legend holds, every time a new subscription is added to Eskimo Kiss Project, somewhere in the world a fangirl gets her wings."

This is the most fabulous fandom in the entire world! *loves all of you to bits*

P.S. In other news of sparkly awesomeness, I am figuring out a new vidding program and also just made my first DVD with menus. Technology, ye shall be conquered yet!

My 15 minutes starts now

OMG you guys!!! I'm in the spoiler pics for AWZ's new year's episode!!!!!

Oh, also, this clip showed up on RTL today, one of the most gorgeous skating scenes AWZ's ever filmed. Biased, yeah, shup. But seriously, guys, I'm just blown away. Especially since this was the actors themselves, not skating doubles! I can't believe how good these two have gotten, especially DG -- he may hate skating, but of late he's shown a comfort on the ice that just leaves me gobsmacked. Go, look at the pretty!!

Happy Birthday To Us!!!!!

I think you might have noticed my passing fondness (which, yes, was rapidly fanned into a full-blown obsession) for a certain German soap opera. Today is our birthday! Eskimo Kiss Project is one year old today!

I was going to gush about what an incredible, intense experience this has been (and I still might after I have my coffee), but right now I want to share my squeee! We're getting so much love there, including THE BEST BIRTHDAY PRESENT EVER EVER EVER!!!

Wish you all could see me beaming right now!!! (Or maybe not, it's probably kinda scary...)

So yes. Coming to Köln was a very good idea after all!
